Information We Collect Through Automatic Data Collection Technologies

As you navigate through and interact with our websites, we may use automatic data collection technologies to collect certain personal information about your equipment, browsing actions, and patterns, including:

  • Details of your visits to our website, including traffic data, location data, logs, and other communication data and the resources that you access and use on the website.
  • Information about your computer and internet connection, including your IP address, operating system, and browser type.

The information we collect automatically helps us to improve our website and to deliver a better and more personalized service, including by enabling us to:

  • Estimate our audience size and usage patterns.
  • Speed up your searches.

The technologies we may use for this automatic data collection may include:

  • Cookies (or browser cookies): A cookie is a small file placed on the hard drive of your computer. You may refuse to accept browser cookies by activating the appropriate setting on your browser. However, if you select this setting, you may be unable to access certain parts of our website. Unless you have adjusted your browser setting so that it will refuse cookies, our system may issue cookies when you direct your browser to our website.
  • Log files: Log files track actions occurring on the website, and collect data including your IP address, browser type, Internet service provider, referring/exit pages, and date/time stamps.
  • Web Beacons: Pages of our website and our emails may contain small electronic files known as web beacons (also referred to as clear gifs, pixel tags, and single-pixel gifs) that permit VVG, for example, to count users who have visited those pages or interacted with our emails and for other related website statistics (for example, recording the popularity of certain website content and verifying system and server integrity).
  • Google Analytics and Google Advertising: To help facilitate the delivery of relevant content, we use Google Analytics and Google Advertising. These services use cookies to report on user interactions on our and others’ websites. We use the information collected for optimizing marketing, refining advertising, and/or programming strategies, and generally improving user experience. For more information about Google Analytics and how it collects and processes information, please visit: https://policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites. Instructions on opting out of Google Analytics using a specific plug-in is available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Note that this opt-out is specific to Google activities and does not affect the activities of other ad networks or analytics providers that we may use.

  • Meta Pixel: We may use the Meta Pixel to deliver advertisements to our website visitors on Facebook and Instagram. The Meta Pixel also allows us to measure the effectiveness of these ads for our analytics purposes, to improve our marketing efforts, and to help us improve our website and enhance our Services. Meta may link information collected through the Meta Pixel to your Facebook and Instagram accounts and also use your information for its own promotional purposes in accordance with Meta's Data Usage Policy. The Meta Pixel also allows Facebook, Instagram, and their partners to show you advertisements on and outside of Meta properties. You can opt-out of Facebook displaying ads by visiting your Facebook Ad Settings, and you can clear and control the information third parties share with Facebook in your Off-Meta Activity page. If you do not have a Facebook account, you can opt-out of Facebook ads through the Digital Advertising Alliance here.

If you prefer to prevent third parties from setting and accessing cookies on your computer, you may set your browser to block cookies. You will need to do this for each browser you use to access the websites. Although this may provide you with enhanced anonymity, it may affect the functioning of our website. For example, blocking all cookies on the website may result in your browser not remembering log-in information or other preferences. Additionally, you may remove yourself from the targeted advertising of companies within the Network Advertising Initiative by opting out here, or of companies participating in the Digital Advertising Alliance program by opting out here.

We do not sell your personal information for monetary compensation, but we may partner with third party analytics and advertising service providers, which may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under applicable law. Please click here to access our “Exercise Your Rights – Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” webform to submit your request to opt-out of our use of analytics and advertising cookies to collect your personal information.

We will only use personal information provided in an opt-out request to review and comply with the request. Once you make an opt-out request, we will wait at least twelve (12) months before asking you to reauthorize personal information “sales” or “sharing” as those terms are defined under applicable law. However, you may change your mind and opt back in to personal information sales and sharing at any time by sending an email to compliance@vvgtruck.com, including the Subject Line “Opt In to Sale and Sharing of Personal Information.” In the body of the email, please state that you authorize VVG to sell or share your personal information to third parties. VVG will then send an email asking you to confirm that you have opted in to the sale or sharing of your personal information to third parties.

How We Respond to DNT Signals and the Global Privacy Control

The “Do Not Track” (“DNT”) privacy preference is an option that may be available in some web browsers allowing you to opt-out of tracking by websites and online services. We do not recognize DNT signals and do not respond to them. We currently recognize the Global Privacy Control opt-out preference signal (available here), as a request to opt-out of the sale or sharing of your personal information.

Information Collected in Connection with the Customer Loyalty Program

From time to time, we may offer a customer loyalty program (the “Loyalty Program”). Customers may enroll in the Loyalty Program by providing us with an email address, phone number, full name, customer ID, company name, and company address. We use this information to provide the Loyalty Program and for marketing purposes. We may disclose information collected through the Loyalty Program to internal VVG departments, and to third-party service providers in order to facilitate mobile app integrations, such as a SMS texting service. Customers may opt out of marketing communications at any time by following the instructions in such communications. Customers who provide personal information for the purpose of the Loyalty Program may exercise their rights at any time by emailing us at compliance@vvgtruck.com. The Loyalty Program is not discriminatory in nature—it does not deny customers their rights or discriminate against customers who may have exercised their rights under applicable law. When we provide the Loyalty Program, the price difference calculated by the rewards and/or discounts is reasonably related to the value of the customer information provided to us. For more information about the Loyalty Program, please see the Loyalty Program Terms and Conditions.

We take steps to ensure that such data remains private and confidential. We restrict access to personal information to our employees, contractors, and agents who need to know that information in order to operate, develop, or improve our Services. Tracking Tools on the Services may result in information about your activity on the Services being transmitted from your browser to us and third parties, which, in turn, may result in the display of targeted advertisements on third-party websites, platforms, and services, including advertisements for our content. In addition, whether Tracking Tools on the Services result in your browser’s transmission of information to third parties depends on a number of factors that may be outside of our knowledge or control, including what third-party websites you use, what information you have provided to such third parties, and whether (and the extent to which) you have limited the use of cookies by the operators of those third-party websites, platforms, and services. We are not in the business of renting, selling, or delivering Video Content in a commercial manner. By using the Services, you agree that we are not a “video tape service provider” as defined in the Video Privacy Protection Act (“VPPA”), 18 U.S.C.A. § 2710.

Our Use of Chat Features

These features may collect the content of your communications and other personal information you provide while interacting with the chat feature.
